The Twilight Saga : Breaking Dawn Part I

Everyone's waiting for this movie...

It's actually a lot better than I expected it to be after all the disappointments I had with the  previous  series. It's so much better that my mom actually watched the whole movie (^^,). I'm not sure if I've forgotten the original series but I think it's also a little closer to it than the others.

As expected, some of the scenes were cut and changed but I hardly noticed everything until after the show. Maybe it's because it's been awhile since I read the book. I also like the animation particularly that of Jacob's when she imprinted with Reneesmee although you may get lost on some of the animated parts if you haven't read it.

There are a little things that didn't really disappoint me but I was expecting more. The wedding set-up and everything's really great but her make-up is just a little understated compared to what it says in the book. Some of the honeymoon scenes also turned out to be funny making it a lot less awkward to watch.

Lie To Me

How hard is it to lie? Even with a good conscience I don't think it'll be difficult to do so. Besides, you just have to say something that isn't true (^^,). So, what makes it difficult? It's when you can hardly differentiate the lie from the truth. That's exactly what this drama is about. Who would've thought that a simple joke "I'm married." can create a huge fuss to strangers who met between a 73,200 won hospital bill and a tomato juice incident?

Gong Ah Jung (Yoon Eun Hye), a civil servant and Hyung Gi Joon (Kang Ji Hwan), a hotel president, worked it out pretty well. With Hyung Sang Hee, his brother, as Ah-jung's fairy godfather, everyone was deceived. Even her so called best friend, Yoo So Ran got hospitalize... (too much envy)...

The thing is, they did fell in love... Or did they? Would you really pretend to be someone's wife even to important people just to protect a lie? Is it really typical for him to tolerate it? Oh, come on! There's something else going on for sure. As they say, there's a little truth in every lie. Half of it usually is...

After sorting it out, the next thing to consider is how to take responsibility for the consequences of the lie you made and the truth you just admitted.

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon

Sailor Moon is the very first anime I've watched when I was 9 years old and now there's live action. Oh, yes! I was surprised myself when I found this one. It felt like watching an all female version of Power Rangers in swimsuit-like outfits. Can you imagine how these young girls will do the fight scenes? I've seen it and it made me smile because it's ballet.

You may find this a little cheesy because it's not your typical live action series but the manga and anime is cheesier so I think it's meant to be cheesy (^^,).

This show really is a young girl's dream come true. I mean, who have watched the anime version when they were young and didn't dream of becoming a Sailor Soldier... :)

Playful Kiss ( Mischievous Kiss )

I watched the Taiwanese version before ( It Started with a Kiss and They Kiss Again)  and I loved it so now, I'm watching this too. I just can't get enough of this story.

This is typical for some high school love story. I think the only exaggeration is when their was house was destroyed by a 2.0 magnitude earthquake. The only thing that made this a little special is the girl's effort to pursue her unrequited love ( or crush ) to an intelligent high school boy who hates for being less intelligent than he is. Actually, her character is highly stupid it's so cute and sweet (^^,).

Personally, I still prefer the Taiwanese version (except for the wedding part) because the girl is more convincingly stupid than in the Korean version. I also find the actors who played in this series to be obviously older than they portray until they reached college.

All in all, I still find the story as enjoyable as the original manga and Taiwanese series with Korea's personal touch.

Zettai Kareshi (Absolute Boyfriend)

Totally not your average dose of drama. This made me laugh all throughout the series and cry in the end. The tension is too much I finished it in one day. I even broke my rule and peeped on the comments bar to see what's next. (^^,). The ending is sweet and sad though. So far, this is my favorite.

A company offered Izawa Riiko to find her perfect mate. Thinking that it would be just another matchmaking company, she entered into the contract and found herself living with an appliance programmed to be her ideal boyfriend.

Surprisingly, Night became more than what he was made for. Night acquired a mind of his own and developed human emotions more than his microchip can download.

My Girlfriend is a Gumiho

When I watched the first episode, I wasn't convinced that this will be an interesting story. A spoiled brat for a leading man is too typical for Asian dramas. The progress is a little slow but after watching a few more episodes, it started to entertain me.

If you're the type of viewer who doesn't like peeking on comments and watching the last episode before you finish the others, you might feel a little sad in the middle of the story. You might even draw your own conclusion about how it'll end, be convinced that's how it's going to end and feel sadder about it.

Then again, don't forget this is a story of a mythical nine tailed fox who dreams to become human. Anything is possible to happen and it may just be something you wouldn't expect.

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge

From Japanese manga to anime to drama. This series has really gone a long way and it's pretty much obvious why. Although I expected more from the casts who portrayed Kyohei and Sunako at the beginning, the roles were well delivered by the whole lead casts throughout. Most of the scenes are also more intense than the original series particularly the ending.

The scenes are a little cartoony and some of it are too impossible to happen but the dialogue and thoughts are realistic. The experiences and complexes of the characters are exaggerated as the original series but the solutions are given in a typical manner everyone can relate to.

Other than being funny, you can learn a lot form it. All in all, I enjoyed the drama as much as I enjoyed the original series.

I am Legend

It made me wonder why they came-up with the title and in my opinion, I think it dates back to the ajhummas high school years of dreaming to be a popular band which materialized years after when most of them are settled.

The title and the thought of your mother playing in a band may be boring and ridiculous but don't be mislead. For those people out there who felt stuck, unsuccessful, not contented or someone who just needs to get back on track with all the responsibilities of being an ahjumma, this show is definitely for you.

Some of the scenes  may be too mellow dramatic to start your day but if you would just close your eyes and listen to their performance, you wouldn't expect that they're suppose to be ahjummas. This show rocks more than a younger band group can!

The younger viewers may become disappointed with the ending but I would say this really gives a new meaning to the word "success" and "happiness" in the most motherly and friendly way.

Princess Prosecutor

Another one of a kind drama. Not really light and funny like the others but I'd say it's intellectually humorous. They have more to offer than the typical even their confusing love story have an unsolved mystery that progresses with one of the cases they're trying to solve.

The legal department's love story maybe boring because lawyers are usually formal and uptight but having Ma Hye Ri as a prosecutor can turn a courtroom hearing to an entertainment and all she can say is "It's my way of communicating to the victim".

You'll find yourself drawing your own conclusions in every case they handle and that gives the feeling of the need to watch the next episode.

Oh, yes... I almost forgot Seo In Woo. He always rescue her from trouble. He's like always there for her, you can hardly see where he's coming from... Find out his motives and you'll be surprised how it turned out.

Oh My Lady

Oh yes, this isn't your typical Korean drama. The beginning and ending is a little flat but the 4th to the 15th episode is a non-stop climax.

Yoon Gae Hwa, a 35 year old woman works as a housekeeper for an arrogant young star Sung Min Woo. She's divorced with one child who was separated from her because she lack the finances to find her a decent home. Finally, she got a call from a musical company,The Show Company, for an interview to be the production manager. But the only way she can get the job is to get Sung Min Woo to do the musical his company is working on.

After discovering that Sung Min Woo have a six year old child from an ex-girlfriend he can't locate, they entered into an agreement that put them in an awkward living situation.

My Princess

Finally, after a three day marathon I finished it!!! So what's the story?

It's about the restoration of the South Korea's Imperial Family that has long been gone. According to the story, the emperor have a hidden son that he sent away during the war. When the war is over, the last emperor was found but for some reasons, he keeps on running away trying to avoid the imperial responsibilities and death threats to protect her daughter. Eventually, the emperor died and the princess was sent to an orphanage without knowing her real identity and a pouch that belongs to her father. Not long after, she was adopted and lived a simple life, a commoner's life with her adopted family. Many years passed and  the person pursuing the restoration found the princess. Then the chaos began.

Other than correcting their history and political interventions, there should be a love story. Every princess should have their own prince (^^,)... Just like a star-crossed lovers, the princess fell in love with the son of the person chasing her and her father in the past. The same person who caused her father's death. (At least that's the notion.)

The end... Then again not really...

The Green Hornet (2011)

Watched it... Love, love, love this movie... I think it's an action/adventure/comedy film. If it's not really comedy then I'm sorry but I did laugh a lot (^^,). Britt Reid, the character, is just so childishly funny.   He's the clown.

Kato is the man!!! Well, not his man but sort of. He's like the bodyguard who does all the work while Britt takes all the credit for being The Green Hornet.

Who'd have thought you'll actually be popular by stealing your dead father's head... statue head... Thanks to the publishing company Britt inherited from his dead father, they made it big. He actually made a syndicate leader jealous of his popularity... and the costume even more...

I wonder why the car, black beauty, was never given emphasis. It's the killer car Kato made. One push of a button and it'll kill you literally.

I had the copy of the book but I never read it and just waited for the movie so I really can't compare much. It's better though because I enjoyed the movie and wasn't disappointed like I was with the Twilight series (although I did enjoy it too :)).

I'll be waiting for the second installment that's for sure....
